Louise Fairweather doesn't believe in redecorating for a season. "Swap two or three things," she says, "a cushion, a candle, something on the windowsill — and let everything else just do what it already does well."
Her own Northwich showroom, in a converted room near the old salt works, changes gently through the year rather than all at once: a striped linen cushion here, a hand-poured candle there, a small vase moved from the shelf to the windowsill and back again. It's a quiet argument against the fast-decor cycle, and a useful one heading into the darker months.
